Klimpert, Rudi H. (1926-2011).
Rudi Klimpert was born Hans Rudolf Hugo Klimpert in the Bronx, NY. After two years in the Navy, Rudi attended the Art Students League, NY, for four years, and lived in Canada, and St Louis before settling in the Chicago suburbs of Hinsdale and Clarendon Hills. While Rudi was known as a talented storyboard artist, working on the staff of various advertising agencies with national accounts, his true love was painting colorful works in oils and creating sculptures in wood and alabaster. In 1991, June and Rudi retired to Placitas, NM, where Rudibecame known for his paintings of brilliantly colored landscapes surrounding doors embellished with artifacts of the history, and cultures from the region. WCS Art Instructor Karen Klimpert is his daughter.

Her studio is located on Main Street in Milford, where she also completes commissioned paintings. Her work is included in private and corporate collections throughout the U.S. Through both formal and informal education, academic training and fieldwork, Susan has spent many years studying the history and craft of painting. She has been selling her artwork for over twenty years, and leads workshops in drawing and painting, as well as poetry. While completing her Fine Arts degree through Indiana University South Bend, she was awarded the prestigious Chancellor’s Award and Fine Art Scholarship. Karen Klimpert: Paintings and Drawings
Klimpert paints in acrylics and oils. Particularly fascinated by the stage, her artwork has served as backdrop illustrations for Manchester Symphony Orchestra campus performances of Mussorgsky’s Night on Bald Mountain, Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf and Camille Saint-Saëns’ Danse Macabre. Klimpert, the daughter of artist Rudi Klimpert, has taught in Warsaw Community Schools for more than 20 years.  “Every medium inspires me ... I have ideas that come so fast that I can’t get them onto the canvas quickly enough. Klimpert is a 1985 art education graduate of Manchester College. She studied at the American Academy of Art and has a master’s degree in education from Nova Southeastern University in Florida.
